Administrators

Hi! I’m Allison Casillo, and I’m excited to be in my 9th year at Explore and my 1st year as Assistant Principal. I’ve taught grades K–6 for over a decade in Hawaii, New Jersey, and Colorado. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Hawaii Pacific University and my master’s in International Education with a specialization in ESL from Endicott College, where I studied abroad in Prague and Switzerland. I’m especially passionate about early literacy and creating equitable learning environments where all students can thrive and pursue their passions. Outside of school, I love traveling the world with my husband Chris, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with our dog Gunther.

As I enter my 27th year in public education, I’d just like to say how grateful I am to be a part of the Explore community and Mapleton Public Schools.  I am a graduate of the University of Kansas and the University of Colorado.  I have taught English as a Second Language, Science, and Spanish.  I have also served in leadership roles as a Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal and Principal over the course of my career.  I am excited to work with our staff and students and for another great year at Explore!
