Bio
I’m excited to continue my leadership in the Explore community as principal in 2025. With eight years in educational administration and a background in teaching middle school history and elementary grades (3rd, 4th, and 5th), I bring a deep commitment to student growth and learning. I’ve had the privilege of working in several schools, including Explore about 13 years ago, and I’m thrilled to return to the community in this new role.
My wife serves principal next door in Adams 12, and together we’re raising three wonderful daughters. As a family, we love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, flyfishing, camping, or simply exploring Colorado’s natural beauty.
I look forward to partnering with families and the community to create a supportive, engaging, and inspiring environment for all our students. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m eager to connect and collaborate with you.

Hey Explore Crew! This year marks my 20th year in education, and I couldn’t be prouder to celebrate it as an Explore Eagle! Over the years, I’ve worn many hats. I’ve served as a K-2 technology specialist, taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade, guided middle schoolers through ELA and Social Studies, inspired readers as a librarian, coached teachers as a K-12 instructional coach, supported emotional growth as the district’s SEL coordinator, and led with heart as an assistant principal. I hold an MA in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University and another in Educational Leadership from CU Denver—both of which fuel my passion for innovation and impactful leadership. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and collaborating with all of you here at Explore! When I’m not at school, you’ll find me soaking up time with my family. My husband and I have three amazing kids in high school and college. I love knitting (especially while binge-watching a good show), and I find peace and joy hanging out at my best friend’s mini farm—where baby animals are always ready for a snuggle. Here’s to another incredible year together! |

I have also served in leadership roles as a Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal and Principal over the course of my career. Hi, my name is Shiba Rashiq. This is my ninth year working at Mapleton School District. I was born in a large family in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. After completing my secondary education, I enrolled at Kabul Polytechnic University, where I pursued a six-year program in civil engineering and was awarded a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In 1995, I immigrated to Germany, where I resided for eight years. In July 2001, I got married, moved to Australia in June 2002, and subsequently relocated to the United States in January 2004. Working with preschool-aged children inspired me to pursue formal studies in Early Childhood Education. I deeply valued these experiences, as my interactions with children have not only strengthened my passion for teaching but have also helped me to improve my English skills. To build on this foundation, I enrolled in Early Childhood Education classes at Front Range Community College, where I continue to expand my knowledge and skills to better serve young learners. In 2017, I began my tenure with Mapleton and have maintained my position there to the present, further advancing my professional experience in early childhood education. |

Hello, Explore! I am Louis Baldwin. I joined the Explore family with a lifelong dream of being an educator and 23 years experience in the field. I graduated from Colorado State University with my Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Upon graduating from CSU, I taught at California School of the Arts, focusing on pre-professional ballet and elementary reading; while working with an accounting firm. It was this experience that made me realize that my passion for teaching went beyond dance and decided to return to school to achieve a Masters in Educational Psychology focusing on assessments and data, and a Masters in Curriculum Development. Since then, I have taught all grades (K-5) and have been an instructional coach. When it comes to education, aside from teaching, MTSS, PBIS, and data analysis are my biggest passions.
Outside of school and dance, my “children” are the biggest love of his life.
